St. James Yarn Ministry
"God has given each of you a gift from His great variety of spiritual gifts. Use them well to serve one another . . . Do you have the gift of helping others? Do it with all the strength and energy that God supplies. Then everything you do will bring glory to God through Jesus Christ." 1 Peter 4: 10-11.
The St. James Yarn Ministry was started in response to so many being in need in 2020, with others having a lot of time at home, being able to knit or crochet. Making and giving away needed items is the best way to feel you are helping the community when you otherwise feel alone.
If you like to knit or crochet, please join us to help those in need this winter. We need scarves, hats, 7”x 9” sections that will be made into blankets, and soap sacks (a sack made out of cotton to hold soap that a person without a home can use to carry the soap as well as use to wash up). All donations can be dropped off at St. James and will go to St. Vincent de Paul Place & the New London Homeless Hospitality Center.
Members & friends of St. James and Grace Church, Yantic who like to knit or crochet are invited to join the yarn ministry efforts. For more information, please contact: Marie at st.james.parish.yarn.ministry@gmail.com.
