Mission to Ecuador

Saint James’ Ecuador Mission work began in 2008 as a member of the Seabury Deanery, a coalition of eight local Episcopal parishes. Twelve members of our parish - husbands and wives, fathers, mothers, daughters and sons - have participated in 10 missions to the Episcopal Diocese of Central Ecuador. We work humbly and respectfully in partnership with the Diocese and the indigenous communities, mindful that we receive far more from those we serve than we give.
The impact on the lives of our parish participants is profoundly life-changing, spiritually nourishing, humbling and loving. You discover quickly that it’s not about the work you do, or the supplies and gifts you bring. It’s the people - the relationships you forge working and praying side by side - and the love of Christ you share within each one, that changes our lives forever.
